Fall Athletics by Brett Kapels, Athletic Director
It’s crazy to think that our fall athletic season has already come and gone so quickly. After hours of practice in the gym, on the field, or wherever our feet have taken us, the results are in. The credit ultimately goes to God for the gifts he has given each of us, and we want to thank God for the gifts he has given our coaching staff. Our teams were led by coaches who not only focus on the sport, but incorporate valuable life lessons in their teaching. If you have a chance, please thank these coaches for their time and efforts!
Volleyball: Jen Rice and Sally Heit
Cross Country: Sharman McAllister and Cara Marion
Flag Football: Larry Marion and Tim Allen
It is amazing the see the glory of God shown in the efforts put forward by the students. Our Volleyball team capped off their season at the Peace Bremerton tournament. As the season progressed, they became more familiar with one another and the level of play was raised. Our Flag Football team had a great year, finishing second in league with a record of 4-1. Cross Country continued their hot streak from previous years. This year was a tighter race, but the Eagles brought home the League Championship! You can find that banner hanging in our school lobby.
As we move forward into the next season we reflect back on the ups and downs and in everything we did, we learn from it to make ourselves better for the seasons to come. If you did not have a chance to catch an event, please take the time this season as we begin basketball this week. Hope is blessed to have great students, who also happen to be blessed as athletes as well!

FOOD CLOSET CURRENT NEEDS – spaghetti sauce, rice-a-roni / pasta-roni type items, cup of noodles, canned meals such as ravioli, stew, soups, canned chicken or other meats, canned veggies, canned fruit, granola bars, juice, pancake mix, fruit snacks, fruit cups, applesauce, peanut butter, bottled water, razors, ladies deodorant. Items with pull-tops are preferred since many don’t have can openers.

Thank you for your support on Tuesday night by joining us at Mioposto.
We raised $750 for our Washington D.C. Enrichment Program. What a fabulous evening with such a great turnout! We’re also grateful to Mioposto for their hospitality and great food. They’ve been a delightful partner. We hope our community will continue to support this new West Seattle restaurant. Many thanks from the Washington D.C. Fundraising Committee.
