Thanksgiving Joy by Shari Wallace, Hope School Office Manager
I purposely seek out and surround my life with the things that bring me joy, from life’s smallest interactions like sharing a hug or a smile with a Hope student, to monumental events such as the upcoming birth of my first grandchild. When I started listening to Christmas music over a month ago, my co-workers thought I was crazy, but music is a source of comfort for me and fills my heart with joy, especially Christmas music. Our seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas are a time of reflection and repentance, to be grateful for God’s blessings, time with family & friends, and to focus on what really matters to us. When I’m asked how I get through difficult times my answer is my Faith. My faith in God is why I get up each day, it’s how I survive through those difficult times in life, it allows me to enjoy the blessings in life and it’s what really matters to me.
Ever notice taglines on emails received? I always wonder where they get their inspiration from. My tagline reads, “Always remember to forget the troubles that pass your way but never forget the blessings that come each day!” My hope is that you focus on what’s truly important and to keep the joy of the LORD in your heart.
I feel blessed to work at Hope Lutheran School and I love being able to hug your children and share God’s love every day. Happy Thanksgiving!

Student Council would like to thank everyone who contributed to the school and church canned food drive. With your help we collected 1475 lbs of canned food! The food was sorted and weighed this past Sunday by students and Sunday school attendees and brought to the fellowship hall to be divided between the Hope Food closet and several local food banks with assistance from the middle school Faith classes. Thank you for your gift of food!
