Words Of Hope for Tuesday, March 4, 2014
Hats Off to Hope by Kristen Okabayashi
I am so excited about our auction, coming up in exactly 12 days! Our bi-annual auction is by far our largest fundraiser, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to our Parents and Teachers of Hope (PTH) association. PTH funds a variety of projects, from funding our upcoming performance from the 5th Avenue Theater, to classroom enhancements, to teacher appreciation week, and to gas money for our busses. In addition, we typically have a Make-A-Difference need that we ask parents to contribute to. At our last auction, we asked for money to purchase 7 interactive white boards to allow us to place one in every classroom, and our parents came through to fund it all. This year, we are asking for funding for something less glamorous but very important… bathroom remodels! We believe our bathrooms were last remodeled in the 1970s, and they are way overdue for some refreshing and updating. We hope to raise enough funds to remodel our lower floor girls and boys bathrooms with funds raised from this auction, and raise additional funds at a later date for the upper floor bathrooms.
Besides the practical purpose of the auction, the other part I am excited about is hanging out with all of YOU! It is such a pleasure socializing with some of my favorite people, all people who love Hope Lutheran School, from the school and the church and the community around us. The theme this year lends itself well to dressing up with fancy hats and outfits, but attire from casual business to quite dressy is appropriate. If you have not purchased tickets yet, the absolute deadline is this Friday, March 7. You can drop off the order form at the office. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Parents Night Out is Back!
This Friday, March 7th, there will be a PNO hosted at Hope Lutheran. PNO is open to all children who are potty trained and older. It is a great opportunity for the kids to gather together for a fun time while parents can enjoy time away for themselves! From 6pm-9pm children can be dropped off and checked in either in the north parking lot or in the multi-purpose room (depending on the weather). During that time they will enjoy some play time, pizza and a movie all for the cost of $20/child. If you have any questions please contact Brett Kapels at Bkapels@hopeseattle.org.
