Grandparents Day by Kristen Okabayashi
We are thrilled to welcome to Hope over 130 grandparents and special people tomorrow! Guests can arrive between 8:15-8:35, check in at the commons/narthex, and find a seat in the sanctuary. Chapel, led by our kindergarten class, will begin at 8:40. Guests will then go out to the commons and downstairs to our fellowship hall for a delicious brunch prepared and hosted by PTH (thanks PTH). Next, they will come back to the sanctuary for our spring musical “Follow U” beginning at 10:30. They will then go visit classrooms and their grandchildren/special students and are welcome to shop at our Scholastic Book Fair as well. School will dismiss at noon for everyone.
Please remind our visitors NOT to park out front when they arrive, as that area will be used for drop off as usual until after 9:00 am. They may park in our lowers playground/parking lot or find street parking, or they could park in the public lot kiddie corner from Hope (that lot is only good for 3 hours so they will need to move).
Student in grades 1-5 should wear navy tops and khaki bottoms tomorrow. We look forward to it!

Sixth Grade Change for 2014-2015
As we shared previously, Hope is adding a second sixth grade classroom for fall 2014. As part of that, Mr. Kapels will be teaching some of our middle school coursework, most likely a math section or two since that is his area of experience, in addition to PE/health and his athletic director responsibilities. As part of this change, Hope is looking to hire someone part time to work with Mr. Kapels in teaching PE to our younger students. Please see job openings below for this position along with our previously announced preschool 3s assistant position.
Hope School Open Positions
Hope Lutheran School seeks a part time elementary physical education teacher to work with current athletic director, beginning with the 2014/2015 academic year. Applicants must have experience teaching PE or athletics and a bachelors degree; ideal applicants will hold a valid elementary teaching endorsement with a degree in education, along with a strong personal faith and a servant heart.
Hope School also seeks a part time preschool 3s assistant beginning with the 2014/2015 academic year. Hours are typically 8:00 AM to noon. Preschool experience is preferred, along with a love for children and a servant heart.
Interested parties can visit Hope’s website at HopeSeattle.org for more information and an application form or call the school office at (206) 935-8500. Interested candidates should submit a resume and application by May 26, 2014.
