Athletic Program Recap by Tim Allen, Athletic Director
As we come to the close of the school year, it’s time to look back at all the successful sports and competitions that have taken place throughout the year and provided the students with amazing learning and growth opportunities. I want to thank all the amazing volunteer coaches we have had for all of our sports, as none of the seasons would have even been able to happen without their countless hours spent with the athletes.
As a recap, we had Flag Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Soccer in the fall, Basketball in the winter, Track in the spring, and Cheer for most of the year. It’s so fun to see all of our athletes compete against other schools and themselves and showcase the gifts and talents that God has blessed them with.
Highlights this year include: starting a soccer program and having a very successful first year, 7th/8th grade girls basketball winning the L.E.S.T. championship game for the first time in multiple decades, and currently having over 30 athletes competing in track and field!
We have 2 more track meets before this year’s slate of athletic competitions wraps up, and we would love to have as many of our Hope family as possible at our home track meet on Tuesday, May 22nd at West Seattle Stadium. It begins at 9:30 and continues into the early afternoon. We’d love to see you out there supporting our Hope athletes!
As we look to the summer and then ahead to next fall, please consider how you can help our athletes continue to be their best, whether as a coach (head or assistant), driver to and from events, supporter on the sidelines, or some other way you can help support athletics at Hope Lutheran School.

LCEF Young Investors Club – Stamp Coordinator Needed
Would you enjoy helping kids learn the importance of saving while helping the ministry of Hope at the same time? The Y.I. Club Stamp Coordinator role might be a good fit for you! The Young Investors Club is a Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) sponsored program that helps teach young people the importance of saving and of giving back to God as He shares resources with us. The program is based on stamps that are purchased, collected in savings books and exchanged periodically for investment in an interest-bearing LCEF savings account (3.5% up to $1000). Hope began a soft launch of this program through our Sunday school last year and currently we have 32 Young Investors (with 8 more who are close to filling their books). We would like to expand this program to ALL children in our ministry and are looking for someone to be our Stamp Coordinator. We have lots of resources available and the program is very flexible and can be scoped to your level of availability and interest. We received a generous gift to seed the program to get as many children involved as possible which makes it even more exciting. Hope receives an annual rebate on our mortgage based on the number of total LCEF investors – last year it was close to $8,000 – Praise be to God! Please contact Julia Doerr, Parish Administrator, at 206-937-9330, for more info. You can also visit https://lcef.org/young-investors-club/.
