Just Paperwork? By Mrs. Wallace, Office Manager
By now I’m sure you are all tired of all the reminders to complete your paperwork! Well, it’s an important part of my job to make sure we have the correct information on file, from email addresses to school milk orders. But what is even more important is that I know your child and what they need from the front office. Whether they have allergies and need some allergy medication, or they come down with a tummy ache but just really need a quick break and then that gentle encouragement to return back to class.
Even though I have no training in child psychology, I’ve learned to pay attention to a student’s body language and to ask certain questions. This helps me know if they are anxious about something or truly not feeling well. As we partner together in the education of each child, I’ve seen how Hope School’s nurturing environment encourages them and helps them grow confident!
In my 16 years at Hope, I’ve seen countless children come through the office; what fills my heart are those students that after a year or less at Hope no longer need the comfort of my couch or the office. I miss seeing them of course, but I have joy knowing through Hope School God s love, hope and grace is being shared, as in Isaiah 40: 29-31.
Just another reason I love my job!

The Oct. 23 rehearsal will begin in Mrs. Norton’s classroom (3rd grade). Each student will receive a schedule of rehearsals and our meeting place will normally be in the commons. I encourage kids to bring a snack to eat before we act.
What is LEST? LEST stands for Lutheran Elementary School Tournament. It is a tournament that involves over 1,000 Lutheran students from Washington, Oregon, and California. It takes place in Portland, Oregon at the Concordia University on February 13-15, 2020. There are all kinds of competitions and our drama team is one of many. You must be committed to attend every rehearsal and go to Portland for the drama competition. The drama team is open to grades 5-8. Please be aware there may be auditions needed to keep the size of the cast manageable for the stage.

The admissions director would love some help putting up open house posters and postcards in the junction area and high traffic areas frequented by families. We need to spread the word about our Awesome school!
