Merry Christmas from Hope by Kristen Okabayashi
I generally take time throughout each school day to make at least one full “lap” around the building, peeking into classrooms to see what’s happening, doing a quick visit if teachers are not in the middle of actively teaching a lesson, and checking out the hallways for artwork displays, students seeking a quiet moment to work at a table just outside the class, or students coming and going from a specialist. These “laps” are one of the parts of my job that I enjoy the most, as it gives me time to connect with teachers and students, answer any quick questions, and witness what is happening throughout the school.
My lap this morning was especially fun because it was Christmas Pajamas Spirit Day! Each day this week, we offer a different spirit day as a chance for students to anticipate Christmas and celebrate together as a community. God repeatedly calls us to live in community with each other, as in Hebrews 10:24-25: And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. As I walk throughout the school, I see this community every day, from all the teachers joining in the fun of Christmas pajamas, to our students learning with and from each other, to Mrs. Wallace taking care of a student who was over-heated in pajamas. I’m reminded of the strength of our Hope community including students, staff, and parents in partnership together.
Thank you for being part of our Hope family and Merry Christmas from all of us!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the first ever Eagle Winter Hardwood Classic on Saturday to shoot some hoops! It was a fun morning full of games of bump and 3-point shooting. Congratulations to Greyson who was our 3-point winner with a total of 9 3-point shots in 30 seconds!
