13 Days of Thanksgiving: Preschool Style by Mairi Seraile, Preschool Orcas Teacher
As I entered this school year with some trepidation, once school began I realized God had given me a huge gift in my preschool class, who are truly a blessing to me and to our Hope family. These students have helped me find ways of being thankful this season. During this uncertain time there is one who remains true: Jesus. We praise God for this little “Orca Pod” of love and light. In no order or priority, read this with the “12 Days of Christmas” song in your head….
On the first day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me… a sweet girl named Ellie (she is so helpful! She always cares about setting up our classroom for others).
On the second day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me… a kind boy named Oliver (he has an imagination that inspires me and the entire class to think outside the box).
On the third day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a loving girl named Nova (she has such a loving spirit and it spreads all over the classroom).
On the fourth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a dancing queen named Violette (I have met my true dancing partner in preschool! Such joy!).
On the fifth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…..my assistant Ms. Wingate (she deserves the “five golden rings” – she is a true teacher at heart and a special part of our preschool team – she is a blessing to all of us)!
On the sixth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me … a super helper named Mitch (he is so helpful to everyone in our classroom – we often call on him as an example of this).
On the seventh day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a thoughtful girl named Emily (she adds a lot of heart felt thoughts and joy to our circle time topics).
On the eighth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a superhero named Chase (he reminds me to be a superhero and we share favorites in Jesus and Flash).
On the ninth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a gentle heart named Nicky (he comes right in and helps us keep everyone safe with our “germ buster machine”).
On the tenth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a good friend named Olivia (she is a leader in friendships and it is truly inspiring).
On the eleventh day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a smart friend named Stella (she is so connected with our circle time topics and she loves to learn and share what she knows.)
On the twelfth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me…a new friend named Mackenzie (Welcome! You added just the right amount of love to our class and we appreciate you jumping right in to our Orca family).
On the thirteenth day of Thanksgiving our Good Lord gave to me… a fruitful friend named Carmella (she loves to point out when others are sharing Fruits of the Spirit).
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24
