Admissions Corner by Sally Heit, Admissions Director
Happy New Year! Have you ever been so excited to see a new year begin?! It has been wonderful to see the students return to school after the holidays, rested and excited to see their friends. Soon, we hope to be back to our normal hybrid routine ready to finish out the second half of the year.
As we start the New Year, there are some important dates to keep in mind for this month. January 12 at 6:00 pm is our Preschool Open House. This is a great opportunity to invite families to check out one of the great play-based preschool programs in West Seattle. Our preschool teachers have done an amazing job making preschool fun and exciting while maintaining all of the safety precautions, and we look forward to sharing our classrooms with interested families.
Registration is required; to register click on this link or email me at sheit@hopeseattle.org.
Registration for Fall 2021 begins January 15th to January 26th. Re-enrollment information along with new tuition rates for 2021-22 will be mailed to each family so keep an eye out for that in your mailbox. Applications for new students will start being processed on February 1. If you want to enroll a sibling at Hope, please fill out the new student application in K12Online.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to register your student(s) for the fall as soon as you receive your registration information. We want to make sure to have a spot for your student(s). As you can imagine there is a lot of interest from the community about enrolling at Hope. I am frequently asked by prospective parents if there will be room for their student(s) which is difficult to answer. What we do know is that circumstances can change on a daily basis regarding the pandemic, so my advice to prospective parents is to apply, and I will do my best to find a spot for them. That being said, we want to make sure that all our current families have a place in our classrooms so be sure to register.
I’m constantly reminded of the amazing generosity, kindness, and love that are shared in our school and church communities, and this year is no exception. As a parent I feel blessed that my kids benefit from being a part of an extended family whose staff care about their welfare and life journey as much as I do. And, as a member of the staff it is a privilege to work with Christ-centered teachers who continuously cheer for the success of each and every student even beyond graduation. This year has been tough for all of us, but through these challenges the graciousness and goodness from all of you has shone brightly. Thank you for continuing to be a part of the Hope family and blessings to you in 2021.

Pandemic Update
At Hope, we are seeing potential COVID-related symptoms and potential cases greatly reduced from early to mid-November numbers. Thank you to everyone for your support in minimizing social events and following safety protocols. We are approaching a point where teachers and staff will be able to be vaccinated in the coming months, so our goal is to keep school open with our collective effort.
On that note, as planned, next week on Tuesday, January 19, we look forward to welcoming back our 4th graders for in person learning, and our students in grades 5-8 will return to the hybrid model. With Hope potential cases down a lot and King County COVID rates down a bit also, we are excited to see everyone back. Please let us know if you have any questions.
