New Doors Opening by Lisa Meyer, Middle School Teacher
“From the very beginning, I told what would happen long before it took place. I kept my word.” Isaiah 46:10
This verse has really spoken to me this year as it reminds me that God is continually walking before us and knows the plans He has for us; my job is to trust in these plans.
In 1995 my husband and I were living in Oakland California teaching at Zion Lutheran School, when life circumstances changed. Our plan was to move to my hometown of Portland Oregon and be closer to family. God had a different plan; we drove straight through Portland and landed on the front steps of Hope Lutheran School in Seattle Washington. Moving forward 26 years, our family is on the move again.
Hope has been such a big part of our family’s life; my children were all baptized at Hope, they went through communion at Hope, we have dear friends that we consider family from Hope and I have had the privilege of meeting and teaching so many children here. It is a place that will forever be dear in my heart.
God has opened new doors for our family in Phoenix Arizona and while it is easy to be fearful, I am holding onto God’s promises in Isaiah 46:10, and trusting in His plan.
Thank you Hope Lutheran for the joy and all the memories this place has given me; I will be forever grateful.

Office Manager Hired
We are thrilled to share that Hope preschool teacher Tammy Shelver will be taking over as office manager in the school office next year on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. As mentioned previously, current office manager Shari Wallace will continue to serve in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays. Mrs. Shelver has worked at Hope for the past three years, and her warm and friendly personality will be a blessing to our students, staff and families. With lower attendance in our half-day preschool program due to the pandemic enrollment, the half-day preschool class will take a hiatus for this coming school year. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Shelver to the school office position!

Since the end of the year is quickly approaching, it’s time to get library books returned!
