Grant for Emergency Supplies by Kristen Okabayashi
Thank you to the Hope Lutheran Foundation for their generous grant of $1200 this fall towards Hope School emergency supplies. These funds allowed us to purchase 130 new student kits to replace emergency supplies which expired in November 2022. These kits are part of our emergency planning preparations.
Each emergency kit provides 1 student or adult with essential emergency supplies for approximately 1 day (24 hours). Emergency kits are contained in a resealable zip lock bag and include emergency food and water, a dust mask, an emergency survival blanket, a light stick, and moist towelettes.
The new kits will supplement our current unexpired kits so we have enough for each student and adult at Hope. While of course we hope we never have to use them, in case of emergency we have them available, along with other emergency supplies and materials which include:
- Teacher backpacks with emergency information and first aid kits
- A leader backpack with an emergency radio, safety gear and emergency tools
- Tarps and other gear
The Hope Foundation has enriched other school programs over the years including robotics kits, a front lobby refresh, and additional emergency supplies. We appreciate their support!

We Made Our Goal!
THANK YOU so much to everyone who donated to The Eagle Excellence Fund in support of our teachers and staff! We are so grateful for your continued support of the great work we do here at Hope Lutheran School and the talented, dedicated people that do that work tirelessly. A total of 65 donors along with the help of company matching helped exceed our goal of $60,000 for a grand total of $61,270! Amazing! Words cannot express how grateful we are to our current families, alumni, church members and friends of Hope for supporting Hope School in this way.
