Welcome Back! By Kristen Okabayashi, Hope School Principal
We hope this message finds you well and excited for school as we kick off the second week of the school year! Thank you to the many of you who joined us last Sunday for the north campus dedication ceremony, which was so special. All of our K-8 students are enjoying being over at the new campus for middle school, PE, and art! There is a strong legacy of Lutheran education at the north campus and it means a lot to me to carry on the tradition.
As we embark on this new journey together, we are reminded of the wisdom found in our theme verse Hebrews 12:1-3: “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder that with focus and determination, we can overcome challenges and achieve great things together as we follow Jesus.

Chapel Offerings for September and October: Each week, when we gather for chapel, we collect a chapel offering. A small yellow offering envelope will be going home in the Tuesday Yellow Envelope today. Our chapel offerings are used to support ministries and those in need, locally and globally. Hope will be supporting 5 different organizations this year through chapel offerings. For the months of September and October, chapel offerings will be donated to the K-9 Comfort Dog program through Lutheran Church Charities. K-9 comfort dogs are purebred Golden Retrievers that are trained comfort dogs that can be deployed in the event of a disaster or crisis. These dogs and their handlers travel to locations to give comfort to those who are suffering or in need. There are over 130 comfort dogs in the US. Isaac is the closest comfort dog to us coming from Redeemer Lutheran Church in Spokane, WA. Isaac also has his own Facebook page. You can visit him at Isaac Comfort Dog to learn more about Isaac and the K-9 Comfort Dog program.

Please join us for our first General Meeting of the year. Come and meet your PTH Board! Tuesday, October 1: Room Parent and Auction Kick-Off Meetings from 6:30pm – 7:30pm in the Commons. Your PTH will share information about being a Room Parent and also how you can help with our auction (on March 8, 2025) Both are great ways to earn PIP hours, build community and meet your fellow Hope parents. Many hands, make work light!
Friday, October 4: PTH Hosted Tall and Small Family Ball from 6:30pm – 9:00pm Hope North (North Campus Gym):
Break out those dancing shoes at our Tall and Small Family Ball and join us on the dance floor at Hope North (Menashe Family Gym). Also a photo booth, snacks and refreshments. You don’t want to miss this fun event! See you all there!
