Announcements July 8, 2014

Welcome New Spanish Teacher

We are so pleased to share that Janice Lehmann has accepted our Spanish teaching position here at Hope. Senora Lehmann has taught Spanish for 11 years, of which the past three have been teaching K-8 at another private school in North Seattle. She holds a Masters of Education from the University of Oregon and believes passionately that Spanish should be taught in a variety of ways to connect with different learning styles. Her two daughters will also join us as students at Hope next year; please join us in welcoming her, along with her husband and children, to Hope!

West Seattle Grand Parade – July 19th

Calling all Hope Lutheran school and church families! The West Seattle Grand Parade is fast approaching and will be parading down California Ave July 19th! We would love a large group of parents and kids wearing their Hope gear walking along with the bus, waving pom poms, passing out candy and creating excitement for our school! I also need 5th or 6th grade boys or girls to wear the Eagle Mascot! Trade off with friends! I do have a few youth Hope Lutheran navy t-shirts available for $10 in a few sizes; first come first serve.

Email Sally Heit at sheit@hopeseattle.org or call 206-851-5990 to volunteer!

Timeframe is as follows:

Meet & Decorate the Bus in our lower playground: 9:00 AM

Drive to the Parade Route: 10:00 AM

Parade begins: 11 AM

Finish: aprox 12:30 or 1:00 PM depending on where Hope is placed in the line.

Thank you to the Petrich family, Tillett family, and Shelby family for volunteering! Come join them and earn your PIP hours early!

Playground Update

Good news regarding the playground big climber toy: we have been able to find a replacement part for the monkey bars so we plan to complete this project over the summer.

School Bus Maintenance

Looking for volunteers to clean out our school buses and get them ready for the new school year. They get pretty dirty with use and it would be great for someone to wash the seats, the floors, the windows, and really make them shine.

Contact the school office at 206-935-8500 to volunteer.
