Thank you for your interest in working at Hope Lutheran School, a small Christian school, preschool through eighth grade, located in beautiful West Seattle. Hope School was founded in 1959 and now enrolls approximately 220 students.

Hope is looking for substitute teachers for the current school year and next year. Candidates should have experience working with children and/or college coursework in the education field. In addition, Hope seeks candidates for two key positions for the 2021-2022 school year. Hope staff must be understanding of and supportive of the ministry of Hope Lutheran Church and School. Candidates must hold a strong personal faith and a servant heart, and must be professional and strong communicators.

Assistant Principal Position: The part-time assistant principal will serve as the instructional and spiritual team leader of the school. The assistant principal will work with school staff, students, and families to achieve the unified church and school vision with a priority on academic excellence and school culture. The assistant principal reports to the Principal of Schools. If full-time hours are desired, this position could be paired with a part-time teaching position.

Candidates for the assistant principal position must have at least three years of teaching experience combined with ideally at least two years of experience in school leadership. Teacher certification is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates with prior experience at Hope School are preferred. School Office Manager: The full-time office manager is responsible for running all operations of the school office and reports to the principal. The office manager performs a variety of clerical tasks requiring detailed knowledge of school procedures and policies, supports administrative staff with routine administrative and clerical details, maintains attendance and student records, and acts as liaison between other administrative leaders with staff, students, parents and the community.

Candidates for the office manager position must have office and/or clerical experience and at least a high school diploma. See job description below for more information. This position begins July 1, 2021 and ideal candidates will be available in June to begin training with current office manager.
