WOH For Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015

Posted January 6, 2015 by Shari Wallace & filed under School Newsletter.

Happy New Year by Sally Heit, Admissions Director

As midnight strikes and the New Year begins, many of us recommit to goals and make resolutions. At Hope school it is no different; however, our staff recommits themselves every day, not just every year, to providing the best educational opportunities for life-long learning for our students, and it is a promise we take very seriously. We realize that you have many choices when it comes to educational options for your child(ren) in West Seattle and the greater Seattle area, and we thank you for partnering with us and entrusting us with your children and their education.

At Hope school, a day in the life of our students begins with academic rigor, but includes many other pieces as well. A well-rounded education at Hope includes physical education and three recess periods per day in our K-5 program, as well as one recess in middle school, along with weekly music and art education at a time when these programs are being reduced or cut entirely from some schools. It includes keeping current with technological trends and providing students with opportunities to excel through our new iPad Air device program in middle school, Smart Boards in every classroom, and our state-of-the-art computer lab. And, it also includes providing a solid twenty minutes for students to eat lunch and enjoy a freshly made, high quality hot lunch program three times a week. Last, but most certainly not least, we hold dear the relationships and bonds we have forged with you, our parents and guardians, because without your involvement in and out of the classroom, we could only do part of the job we have been entrusted with. We are blessed to be partnering with you on your child (rens) educational journey, and look forward to continuing it next year.

Next week, you will receive your re-enrollment forms and tuition information in your Tuesday envelope for fall 2015. Please review this information and turn your re-enrollment form in by January 23rd. You are also able to re-enroll online; simply follow this link (re-enrollment form towards bottom). If you have any questions, please email or call Office Manager Shari Wallace or me, Admissions Director Sally Heit.

Lastly, as we begin 2015, we want to send a special welcome to new student Charley J. in second grade, along with his mom Carisa. Welcome to the Hope family!

Seahawk Support

Student council invites all students to celebrate the Seahawks’ football playoff game this weekend with Seahawk Friday! This week on Friday, January 9, students may wear Seahawk apparel or Seahawk colors of blue and green to show support for our Hawks. This is an optional spirit day and students not wearing Seahawk apparel or colors will need to come in school uniforms as usual, as it is not a free dress day. Go Seahawks!
