Parent Teacher Conferences by Kristen Okabayashi, Hope Principal
All of our teachers have been working hard recently preparing for parent teacher conferences, beginning tomorrow through Thursday. Teachers have collected assessment data, organized anecdotal information, and reviewed assignment and tests to get ready for conferences. Thank you all for supporting the days without school so that we can spend time together discussing our favorite topic, our students!
While the teachers have been busy preparing, you might ask what you could be doing to make the best use of conference time. Here are some ideas:
- Prepare to listen to information about how your child is doing in all areas at school – academically, socially, physically, spiritually, and emotionally
- Prepare to talk about how things are going at home – it helps teachers to hear more about a child’s particular interests, skills, needs, and dreams
- Review homework, tests, and assignments ahead of time
- If you have question, consider writing them down so you don’t forget anything
- Be open to hearing about what is going great and what is challenging for your student
We look forward to meeting together and working together to help all our students reach their potential. See you all soon!
