Partnering with Parents by Kristen Okabayashi, Hope Principal
Research demonstrates that when parents/guardians are involved in their child’s school experience, students have higher school attendance, stronger grades, and learn more than when parents are not involved. Parent-teacher conferences are coming up in three weeks, and they are such a great way for parents to become involved and engaged in their child’s classroom experience at Hope. It’s a wonderful opportunity to discuss our favorite topic: our students and children! It’s the time to share questions and observations about your child with their teacher, so we can partner together to help our students meet their potential.
K-8 student fall conferences are highly encouraged/required and so all families will be assigned a conference time. If you have a preference for your conference, please fill out the request form going home today in the Tuesday communication envelopes and return it to the office or your child’s homeroom teacher by Tuesday, October 22. Fall conferences are optional for our preschool students and you will hear more information from your child’s preschool teacher.
Please let us know if you have any questions about parent/teacher conferences; we look forward to meeting with all of you!

The admissions director would love some help putting up open house posters and postcards in the junction area and high traffic areas frequented by families. If you would like to get your steps in for the day and walk the junction or if you have a business that you could hang up a poster in, please let Sally Heit know. We need to spread the word about our Awesome school!
