WOH for Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014
Admissions by Sally Heit, Admissions Director
It is hard to believe, but we are well into our second month of school and in full swing with academics, sports, after school clubs and just plain fun! September flew by and as we say goodbye to warm, sunny days, I want to take a moment to welcome all our newly enrolled families to Hope this year. Hope enrolled 50 new students from preschool through grade eight, and we are so excited to have them here. I also want to give a shout-out to ALL our families for continuing to talk about the exciting things our students are doing and learning here at Hope. Referrals and word of mouth continue to be the main reason families visit us on a weekly basis. Your support and feedback are so important to the work we do, and we appreciate it.
We have four open houses between now and January, with the first being our Middle School Open House tonight at 6:30 p.m. I encourage you to invite friends or family and attend even if you already have a middle school student or younger students to see what a middle school experience is like at Hope School. Take a closer look at how we are implementing the 1:1 iPad Air device program into classrooms and the opportunities available to your future middle school student. Games2U a mobile entertainment truck, will be parked in the lowers parking lot with new games and 12 large bunkers, taking laser tag to a whole new level.
Looking ahead, we will host the Kindergarten Information Night on Nov. 4th, the All School Open House on Nov. 18th, and the Preschool Open House on Jan. 13th. I am also excited to be organizing a community Wine tasting event scheduled for February 28th at Seattle Lutheran High School. Do you happen to have friends or contacts in the wine business interested in showcasing their wine? Would you like to help plan or volunteer the night of the event? If so, please email me at sheit@hopeseattle.org.
This year is off to a great start, and I’m excited to see how our school will “Be the Change” in the coming year!
