Words of Hope for Jan. 24, 2017

Jumping for Gym Joy! By Kristen Okabayashi

Last week, we shared in re-enrollment information that we have formed a partnership with West Seattle Christian to use their gym for PE next year, which is wonderful. We have longed for regular gym use for years, and we really appreciate these great neighbors for being open to sharing their space with us.

Well, in addition, I’m so excited to let you know that we will also be able to use their gym beginning this school year! Over the next couple of weeks, we will transition our kindergarten through sixth grade PE classes into that gym space. We will also be able to use it on some days for recess if/when the weather is really poor, and we will continue using it for a few basketball practices after school as well. Our seventh and eighth grade PE classes will continue meeting at the Seattle Lutheran High School gym; SLHS has been very gracious about offering their space to us this year for those grades.

Please join us in saying a prayer of thanks for the folks at West Seattle Christian, including their new pastor, Worth Wheeler. We appreciate their partnership and willingness to lease their space to enhance our students’ PE experience.
