Student Centered

"The teachers really care about their students and want them to succeed. Though HOPE is a small school, it's big in many ways. I know my child is getting a good education, is being challenged academically and in a safe environment." Hope Parent

Nurturing Excellence

"One reason why I love Hope Lutheran School is the class size. I really feel like my son has the opportunity to get the help that he needs when he needs it...so that he can really shine." Hope parent

“The teachers and staff are deeply invested in our children’s happiness, feeling safe, and education. Our oldest asked if he can go to college at Hope Lutheran!”

Hope School is now accepting applications for Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten!

We offer full-day and half-day preschool options designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning through our play-based ...program.

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program is perfect for students who miss the August 31st kindergarten cutoff or would benefit from an additional year of growth and development before entering kindergarten. Families can choose school-day or full-time TK options to fit their needs.

Engaging learners with hands-on experiences beyond the classroom walls deepens and reinforces what’s happening inside the classroom.

Our fourth grade students recently traveled to MOHAI (Museum of History & Industry) for an interactive program titled “Cracking the Code of Puget ...Sound.” Students worked in teams to analyze historical artifacts connected to key themes: Native People, Explorers, Trade, Farming, and the Oregon Trail.

Each group examined primary-source artifacts, rotated through additional research stations, and gathered letter clues attached to each item. Those letters formed a code to unlock a mystery box—revealing the artifact’s identity and historical context. Every team successfully cracked their code and presented their findings, demonstrating both historical reasoning and collaborative problem-solving.

The learning didn’t stop there. Students continued exploring the museum through a guided scavenger hunt before enjoying lunch together and returning to school.

Experiences like these bring history to life—encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork.

Today preschool and TK students had very special visitors! Captain Tuttle from the South precinct, Captain Bair from the Southwest precinct and Officer Spencer of the K-9 unit visited our students to talk about helpers in our community, who we can go to for help, and what tools the police use to ...keep us safe. Two highlights were climbing through the patrol cars (there might have been a few horn honks!), and meeting a special part of the team, Frodo, from the K-9 unit. He is almost six years old and enjoyed meeting students and getting treats!

Thank you Captain Tuttle, Captain Bair, and officer Spencer for sharing your time and knowledge with our youngest learners! I think there are some future police men and women in our group!

We are in the season of Lent, and Wednesday's Chapel was led by Pastor Peter who provided context and meaning to students about the 40 days before Easter. Ash Wednesday was last week while our school was on mid-winter break, so we shared at this Chapel about taking time to examine our sin. ...We also enjoyed a short performance from 5th grade of the hymn, The Lamb, as well as Chapel worship band. #hopeseattle #lent #middleschooleducation #privateschool #chapel

LEST 2026 is in the books!

So proud of our students for representing Hope School! Hope has been competing in LEST for over 65 years. We have families whose parents competed and now their children compete. It's not about winning (ok, maybe just a little bit lol), but it's about ...building community within our school and also with the other Lutheran schools that come to compete.

This year 18 Lutheran schools from as far as California and British Columbia came to Tacoma Community College to compete in Knowledge Bowl, Chess, Lego Building, Robotics, Spelling, Math, Science, Writing, Art, Fine Arts, Drama, Cheer, Dance, Swimming, Basketball, and Bowling. There is something for every student to shine their light in; building character, leadership, good sportsmanship, and servants. At LEST we celebrate everyone.

Hope School invites LEST competitors, coaches and their families to Sunday worship service at 10:30 am March 8th to congratulate these outstanding students and coaches.
