Student Centered

"The teachers really care about their students and want them to succeed. Though HOPE is a small school, it's big in many ways. I know my child is getting a good education, is being challenged academically and in a safe environment." Hope Parent

Nurturing Excellence

"One reason why I love Hope Lutheran School is the class size. I really feel like my son has the opportunity to get the help that he needs when he needs it...so that he can really shine." Hope parent

Our eighth graders are the leaders of our school. As such, they set the tone and are the example to our youngest learners of what strong leaders are. Most Wednesdays after chapel eighth graders run outside to play tag, spin the omnispin, help with the monkey bars and sometimes get put in playground... jail. The big kids get to be little kids and form warm, healthy relationships with preschoolers.

At Hope we don't just nurture academic excellence; we also foster and encourage opportunities for our students to be caring, compassionate and engaged young people. When they leave our school they have a better sense of who they are, what makes them happy and how to positively engage with the world.

Hope nurtures excellence in the whole child.

Ending a week of celebrating the rich history of Lutheran schools with service to the community. Showing God's love towards others and service to the communities we are a part of is at the heart of Lutheran schools. We educate the whole child, mind, body and spirit.

In addition to ...participating in an online mission trip to Mongolia, students assembled hygiene bags to hand out to the community. Over 200 bags were put together and each student takes one with them to be a light to someone else.

Hope School has served students in preschool to grade 8 in West Seattle for over 65 years and will continue to empower students to be critical thinkers, strong leaders and compassionate servants for many more years to come. #hopeseattle #westseattle #hopelutheranstrong #privateschool #nurturingexcellence

Field Trip Day! Hope School Garden Club took a field trip to the local and beloved West Seattle Nursery to learn about houseplants which has been the focus of the Nursery for the month of January.

Nursery staff toured the group through the greenhouse, highlighting various types of plants... such as carnivorous plants, orchids, tropical plants, and air plants. Students had good questions such as what makes a plant a rare plant, or how do carnivorous plants eat? Fascinating!

Each student left with a small houseplant and information on how yo take care of them plus information on their Growing Gardeners Club newsletter! Every month highlights something fun and new, starting with planning, planting seeds, caring for starts, etc. Their demonstration garden for kids is coming soon!

Thank you Marie and the entire staff @westseattlenursery
For a fun afternoon learning about the plants you care for in the greenhouse! We had a great time!

Sign up for their Growing Gardeners Club newsletter: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/UiQiu0U/GG

The Hope Garden Club is made up of second to 7th grade students who spend Thursdays at their greenhouse learning about planting seeds, forcing bulbs, water collection, and worm composting. #westseattle #gardenclub #westseattlenursery #hopeseattlegardenclub #gardeningisfun
