Welcome to Hope Lutheran School!

Welcome to Hope Lutheran School, one of the largest private Lutheran schools in the Pacific Northwest. When it was established in 1959, Hope Lutheran School opened its doors to 88 students in grades kindergarten through grade 5 and now serves over 180 students through 8th grade. For over sixty years Hope has been educating students for life-long learning in the West Seattle community, intentionally keeping our class sizes small in number so we can get to know your family and student. One unique quality that current families continually mention when talking about Hope Lutheran School is the emphasis we put on forming relationships with our students and parents. The teachers at Hope love to teach, and that love shows in our daily interactions with students.

Faith Focused

"When I came to hope, I was instantly welcomed. I've learned about God, made friends, and become a better student." Hope student

Student Centered

"The teachers really care about their students and want them to succeed. Though HOPE is a small school, it's big in many ways. I know my child is getting a good education, is being challenged academically and in a safe environment." Hope Parent

Inspiring Excellence

"One reason why I love Hope Lutheran School is the class size. I really feel like my son has the opportunity to get the help that he needs when he needs it...so that he can really shine." Hope parent

While students and staff are enjoying some much needed rest and fun during spring break, our hardworking crew are still busy at the north campus preparing the school for students in the fall. Roof work is wrapping up, floors have been installed in two classrooms, and the gym girls' bathroom is... nearing completion! Next is the boys' bathroom. And the neighborhood guinnea fowl visit campus daily. The patio work will begin in June which is very exciting! Slowly, but surely, our crew is making headway, and we are so grateful to have their help! Stay tuned for more updates! #hopseattle #hopelutheranstrong #hopeseattlemiddleschool #westseattlemiddleschool #middleschooleducation

Wednesday Night Connect resumes on the 17th! Come at 7pm with the family; something for all ages! Amy Kopecky will lead an 8-week course on prayer you won't want to miss (Patra Mueller is also leading the same course Thursday mornings at 9am).
6pm dinner in the Fellowship Hall.

During Holy Week, we have been leading students through the Easter story using the Fruits of the Spirit found in the book of Galatians. Today was about Joy because we celebrate Jesus being raised from the dead and overcoming death and dying for us. Fifth grade did a great job of leading chapel! ...

Chapel offerings have raised just over $300 towards purchasing a cow from @heiferinternational ! We have two more chapels to get there! #hopeseattle #hopelutheranstrong #hehasrisen #Easter #chapel #lutheranschools

This week was a bit different than other weeks at Hope school. It was Holy Week. As a school, we walk with students through the week, explaining through scripture and liturgy to our students the events that led up to the crucifixion of Christ. It's important that they understand the story and ...why it is so important to our faith. We also have a little fun and enjoy the spring colors and the joy of petting a fluffy, white bunny named Daisy. As we end the week on Good Friday, the day Jesus is crucified, we quietly reflect on his sacrifice for us and look to the joy of his rising from the dead. #hopeseattle #faithformation #holyweek #privateschooleducation #westseattle #lutheranschools

Good Friday. We will gather at 7 PM to reflect on the final hours of Jesus' time on earth and those around him.
You are invited to take part in our prayer vigil, 2-6 PM, and reflect on the last words of Christ on the Cross. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0545ADA62DA7FA7-48447181-good#/
