Sand Dollar Club
Hope Lutheran School provides a preschool extended care program called Sand Dollar Club. Fully licensed through the State of Washington Department of Early Learning, we provide before- and after-school care for preschool-aged children from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the morning students are dropped off in the church Fellowship Hall for quiet playtime. At 8:15 a.m. when our formal preschool program begins, staff escort the preschoolers to their classroom and sign them in.
After morning preschool, Sand Dollar Club students are signed out by the staff and enjoy outside recess followed by lunch (provided by the parent), rest time, snacks, recess, story time, and a combination of structured and open choice activities. Our mission is to provide a safe, secure, caring, and nurturing Christian environment for children, which is supported by a consistent daily schedule. After 5:00 p.m., our students end their day with the K-6 extended care group in the Fellowship Hall for games and stories.
Extended School Care for grades K-6 (ESC)
We also offer a fully licensed child care and enrichment program for ages 6 to 12 years called ESC. The ESC morning begins at 7 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall with students using their free time to pursue games or art. At 8:15 a.m., ESC staff walk the students to their classrooms. After school, students enjoy recess, snack, and rotate activities such as computer lab, art, and cooking. Part of our mission is to aid and support our school’s working families, so we also schedule time for students to do their homework before going home at 6:00 p.m. On non-school days or half-days, we plan fun and enriching field trips in addition to the other activities.
