Once a student finishes an independent reading book, they will complete a reporting form. Our current goal is one or more books per month, or about four chapter books per quarter. The reading requirement is 150 minutes per week of independent reading.
Students will sometimes share orally about their books with the class using their form as a reference source. We will call this a “book talk.” The goal of a book talk is to create interest in reading a variety of books while allowing students the opportunity to share their knowledge and opinions with their peers.
There may also be book report projects during the school year as assigned during class.
