We had a wonderful first week of school last week! I think the cloudy weather helped all of us adjust to being back to school after a beautiful summer. Lots of great energy and enthusiasm in the whole school! We are so blessed to have you all here with us this year.
In addition, I am so thrilled to announce we received our official accreditation certificates from two national accrediting bodies, both AdvancED and NLSA (National Lutheran School Accreditation). Many of you will remember our school worked very hard to go through the rigorous process of renewing our accreditation last year, and in the spring the visiting team recommended us for accreditation. The national committee voted to approve our accreditation over the summer so it is official. The accreditation is valid for five years, so in four years we will go through this cycle again. Thanks to those of you who helped by providing school survey information or helping on a team.

Job Opportunity at Hope School

Hope School is looking for subs to work in our preschool program, extended care program, and the K-8 program. Tuesday Newsletter & Communication Envelopes
Our newsletter is sent via email every Tuesday and will also be posted to our website at http://hls.hopeseattle.org/. Please notify the school office at 206-935-8500 if you require a hard copy. Our weekly newsletter is used for general announcements, calendar date changes or reminders, Parent Involvement Program (PIP) opportunities, sports, and much more! Other communication tools we utilize are Vertical Response, which goes out via email, and SchoolMessenger, which goes out via phone. Please ensure that the school office has up-to-date information for your family. Each kindergarten through 8th grade homeroom will send home a bright yellow communication folder with important school forms. Please sign the outside of the envelope, remove the contents and return the folder to your child’s homeroom. Do not place forms inside this envelope; instead, attach any forms returning to the school to the outside of the envelope.

A second drawing will be held on September 19. In addition, the grade with the highest average per student on September 19 will win a classroom party!
Back to School BBQ
Thank you Hope families for attending our Annual Back-to-School event. PTH would like to extend a special “Thank you” to Mr. Will Jones and Jones Original Barbeque for providing PTH with a special deal on their tasty pulled pork and beef. Thank you!
Chapel Offering Envelopes
Offerings are collected during our Wednesday chapel service from the students using their weekly offering envelopes. Hope School continues to sponsor a child, Christopher Tano, through Compassion International. Your students offering envelopes will be sent home each Tuesday. These offerings allow students to develop a pattern of giving as part of their Christian lives and to share God’s love by supporting missions and charities. Therefore, we encourage students to give from their own money (allowance or other earnings).
School Directory & Handbook
Each year the school prints and distributes a school directory for our school families. Every effort is made to publish a complete and accurate directory. If you have had a change of address, phone or email since completing your registration form for 2016-17, please notify Mrs. Wallace by email at mailto:email@example.comASAP. Our directory will be distributed at the end of the month. Our handbook is in the process of being updated but can be viewed via our website here and any changes will be communicated through our newsletter. Please note that our Uniform Guidelines have been updated for this school year.

Holy Rosary Presents… WESTFEST – Holy Rosary’s Fall Family Festival
