Welcome Back To School!

Welcome back to Hope School! This morning was very busy both for students and parents as everyone was finding desks, unloading school supplies, greeting friends and making new ones. Hope is excited to welcome a total of 220 students, 49 of which are brand new to our Hope family. That is so exciting! Please join me in welcoming these new families and making them feel at home here in their new school family. It was great to see so many families at opening chapel this morning where we introduced our theme for the year: “Be Strong, Be Courageous!” Inspiration for the theme came from Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This theme is so powerful, and is encouragement not only for students but for staff, teachers and parents. We are commanded, not asked, to be strong and have courage in whatever action we take this year, whether it is in sports, exams, relationships, or personal struggles. God is with us no matter what; I find that very reassuring. I look forward to watching how our students grow in strength and courage this year. Will they take risks? Can they overcome fears knowing that God is right with them every step of the way? Our staff will also be right there, too, not only to educate them but to walk alongside them in their journey. Let the year begin!
