Growing Hearts in Transitional Kindergarten

In our Transitional Kindergarten classroom, each day begins with a meaningful reminder of who we are. During morning meetings, students joyfully declare: “I am loved, I am chosen, I am created in His image, and I am His masterpiece.” These affirmations help build a strong identity in Christ.
We also learn that our words matter. As Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “The tongue has the power of life and death,” so we practice speaking kindly, encouraging one another, and sharing God’s love through our words. As we grow, we are learning to live this out through our actions by exploring the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23): love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This looks like sharing, using gentle hands, waiting patiently, and choosing kind words.
It’s been so special to see our transitional kindergarten students grow not only academically, but in their hearts. We encourage you to continue these conversations at home and ask your child what truth they spoke or which “fruit” they showed today!
