Making All Things New!
by Pastor Peter Mueller
What are the things that are broken in this world that you wish were fixed? What are the things that tempt you to conclude that the way your life is now is the best it’s ever going to get? There is no shortage of things in this world and in our own lives to discourage us — some of them are our own fault and others are the fault of others or simply circumstances we find ourselves caught up in.
This week, Christians around the world remember the death of Jesus Christ on a Roman cross to pay the price for all that’s wrong in this world. We also celebrate the most central fact of our faith: the resurrection of Jesus on that first Easter Sunday. When God brought life to Jesus’ dead body, it wasn’t just a miracle — it was a foretaste of the work Jesus will do to make all things new when he returns.
As much as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, we look forward to the “resurrection” or renewal of the whole world, including all those who trust in Jesus when he returns. Until then, we have the great opportunity of joining Jesus in making broken things and broken hearts new wherever we go!
Join us Easter Sunday at the 8:30 or 10:30 services! Easter Egg Hunt starts at 9:45; register at 9:30.
