Rainbow Baby by Shari Wallace, Office Manager
Wednesday’s have become a fun day of the week for me. These are the days I spend with my granddaughter Scarlett. I call them Grandma Days! I look forward to her smile and excitement as she has grown to know me and we both look forward to grandma days.
It’s true when they say the love you feel for a grandchild is indescribable. I love rocking her to sleep as she looks so peaceful and I take this time to pray over her. I pray to God to keep her healthy and safe and that she has a kind and giving heart. That she knows she is a child of God and comes to know HIM as her Lord and Savior. That she is loved and shares that love with others.
I imagine this is how God feels for us, this indescribable love and that HE prays over us every day. Scarlett is truly a gift from God. My son and daughter-in-law call her their rainbow baby. A baby born after a miscarriage or loss of a baby is referred to as a rainbow baby. They struggled for years to get pregnant and chose IVF for assistance. They openly share their story to break the silence and bring awareness for those that have suffered the loss of a baby. We feel blessed to be given this gift of a child, our rainbow baby, and embrace every day with her.
