Merry Christmas! by Kristen Okabayashi, Hope Principal
We hope this newsletter finds you well as we prepare our hearts (and houses!) to celebrate the birth of Jesus! As the holiday season is upon us, we would like to wish everyone a joyous and blessed Christmas! May this festive season bring love, warmth, and happiness to your homes. We hope you enjoy quality time with loved ones and create beautiful memories.
The past week was filled with exciting celebrations centered around the birth of Jesus. We are delighted to share some highlights from our school:
- K-4 Christmas Program: Tuesday night December 5, kindergarten students wisely opened up the show with an incredible retelling of the Christmas story from memory from the Gospel of Luke, followed by Christmas songs from grades K-4. It was a beautiful night that put us all in the Christmas spirit!
- Preschool Nativity: On Friday night December 8, preschool students put on a creative rendition revolving around the arrival of Jesus, ending on a high note with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. Students paraded into the sanctuary dressed in nativity costumes and serenaded us to the narration of drama teacher Sandra Scragg.
- Upper Grades Performance: Our students in grades 5-8 spread holiday cheer through beautiful instrumental songs and Funny Letters to Santa monologues from our drama elective. The evening ended with Glee Club performing the catchy “All I Want for Christmas”, their choice for the evening.
As we finish up 2023, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all our families for their continued partnership in nurturing our students’ education. Your support and involvement have been instrumental in creating a thriving learning environment.
We hope this break offers an opportunity for rest and rejuvenation for both our students and their families. We look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday, January 2, 2024! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We value your partnership and look forward to continuing our journey together in the new year.
Wishing you all a peaceful and joyous Christmas and a happy New Year!
