Aloha Auction 2025 by Kristen Okabayashi, Principal
The annual Hope auction is quickly approaching on March 8, 2025! The primary purpose of the auction is to raise funds for the Parents and Teachers of Hope (PTH), a group which runs numerous programs which support the school – parent speakers, class parties, teacher supplies, and many other important resources.
A second and important purpose of the auction is to build up our amazing Hope community. Last year’s auction was financially very successful, but in addition it was well attended and a lot of fun! With a strong turnout from families, we enjoyed chatting and mingling at the beginning of the auction, celebrating during the live auction, and then dancing until the wee hours.
This year’s special Fund-A-Need will go towards updating school flooring on the main campus. The main campus has seven classrooms that need to be finished to update all our classroom floors, in addition to some work needed in our two main campus hallways still. With a goal of $25,000, these updated floors will be easier to clean and create a similar clean aesthetic in all our classrooms. Even if you are not attending the auction this year, you can also donate to this fund-a-need with a check to either school office.
Ticket sales have been strong this year;I look forward to seeing many of you on March 8!

Academic Fair Assignment For All Students
Here’s some big news! The annual Academic Fair returns Tuesday May 6 at 7:00 PM. This year’s focus is science. Students will complete a science fair project using the scientific method. All the instructions and guidelines will be in the Tuesday Yellow envelope today. The completed project will come to school the day of Tuesday, May 6. We expect all students to attend and browse all the projects in the whole school.
Admissions
New Family Referral Bonus! We are looking to intentionally and actively grow our school size in the coming years. You can help us! As an encouragement to share more about our school, the board has approved a generous referral discount of $1000 to any current families who recommend new students to Hope and enroll and remain in good financial standing as of January 30, 2026.
Chapel offerings for the months of January and February are being designated to the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church for wildfire relief in Southern California. Donations will be given to the emergency relief fund that assists the churches, schools, people, and community to support those in need. We thank you for your continued chapel offerings to help those in need in our local community and beyond.

Aloha Auction: Sat, March 8th from 5pm – 11pm at The Hall at Fauntleroy The PTH is hosting the 2025 Aloha Auction! Together we will ‘Reach Beyond the Horizon’ of what lies ahead for our school and community. Join us at the Hall at Fauntleroy in your cocktail attire for an unforgettable evening of fun and fundraising! We will have silent and live auctions, dinner, dessert dash, games, photo booth, dancing, and a marvelous after party!
Summer Camp 2025 Registration Opened Monday, February 3rd
Summer Camp 2025 is open from June 23 through July 25, 2025. Families can sign up for multiple camps by the week, fill out forms and pay camp fees beginning Monday, 2/3. Camp hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Weekly themes listed below. Sign ups will go fast so do not delay in getting your forms in.

CHURCH NEWS

Lent begins next week with Ash Wednesday, March 5. Join us for soup supper at 6:00 pm followed by
worship service with the imposition of ashes and communion at 7:00 pm.
Wednesday Night CONNECT for the whole family will run through the season of Lent.
Beginning on March 12- April 9, Soup Supper in the Fellowship Hall followed by
classes and activities for all ages, 6:00-8:00 pm.
CLUB 45 will meet every week beginning March 12- April 9 for Soup Supper in the Fellowship Hall
followed by games and Bible Study in the North Campus.

Gather 25: The global church is coming together for the very first time, and you’re invited!
Join us in West Seattle for Gather 25
Using the latest translation technology, Christians will be gathering around the world over a 25-hour livestream to worship and pray together, hearing stories of how God is working in every nation. Hope Lutheran Church in West Seattle is hosting two flexible drop-in sessions and we’d love to have as many Christians as possible join with us for this monumental event. Dinner will be provided on Friday night for the kick-off and snacks provided for the wrap-up on Saturday, and families are welcome. You’re invited to watch other sessions on your own.
