WOH December 16, 2025 – Merry Christmas!
by Kristen Okabayashi, Hope Principal
As we step further into the Christmas season, we are reminded what a special time of year this is for our school community. December brings a sense of joy, reflection, and togetherness, and we are grateful to share these moments with your children each day as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth.
Students have been learning about the values that shine especially bright this time of year—kindness, generosity, gratitude, and caring for others. Thank you for the generous gifts you all have provided including socks for Builders Club to distribute to those in need, Giving Tree presents, food and coats to the West Seattle Food Bank, and Chapel offerings to Living Water. It has been wonderful to see these lessons come to life in the classroom and beyond, whether through helping a classmate, participating in service projects, or simply spreading a little extra cheer.
We hope you will join us for these last Christmas activities and celebrations that give our community the chance to connect, sing, and enjoy the season together. Our students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 will celebrate the season tonight with their Christmas performance at 6:30 PM, and most classes will enjoy Christmas parties this Friday. Hope Church offers two lovely Christmas Eve services – a contemporary service at 5:00 PM and a more traditional service at 7:00 PM.
As we wrap up the year, we wish your family a peaceful, joyful Christmas and a refreshing start to the New Year. May the Christmas season bring rest, laughter, and meaningful time with the people you love.
Merry Christmas from all of us at Hope School!
“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6
