The Gift of Time by Samra Tino, Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1
This beautiful verse reminds us that every child grows in their own time. In Transitional Kindergarten (TK), we honor that truth by giving children a precious gift: time. Time to play, explore, grow, and prepare for the next steps—not rushed, but nurtured. TK isn’t just an extra year; it’s a purposeful beginning that lays a strong foundation for learning and life.
In our TK classrooms, children are encouraged to learn through play, creativity, and meaningful routines. We focus on early literacy, motor development, social-emotional skills, and confidence-building—meeting each child where they are. It’s a joyful environment where students are free to be themselves, supported by a curriculum that honors the whole child: mind, body, and spirit.
Just as God has appointed seasons for the flowers to bloom and the trees to bear fruit, He has lovingly crafted this season for students in TK —to bloom in their own time, in their own way. TK is a time of quiet growth, discovery, and planting the seeds for a lifetime of learning.
