WOH, Tuesday, November 18, 2025 – Sea Star News
By Christina Figgins, Sea Star Preschool Teacher
Our preschool class has been busy learning, exploring, and growing together this school year! As part of our fire-safety unit, we’ve been discovering what firefighters wear, how their gear keeps them safe, and how they help our community. The kids have put out a lot of fires in the classroom. We look forward to meeting the firefighters at our school soon.
We’ve also been focusing on building a strong classroom community. With our Friendzy motto “We Are One,” the kids are practicing how to work together, make friends, share toys, and show kindness every day. We’re learning to use kind words, show empathy, and support each other—whether during playtime or during our firefighter role-play.
As Thanksgiving approaches, we are talking about being thankful. Here’s a few things they are thankful for: elephants, cotton candy, lollipops, the sky, and moms and dads. Our class also
focuses daily on the Fruits of the Spirit – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control. It’s awesome when I’m reading a book to the class
and one of the kids says that one of the characters in the story isn’t using their fruits of the spirit.
The Sea Stars are off to a year full of learning, teamwork, and thankfulness!
