Welcome to Hope by Sally Heit, Admissions Director
The beginning of a new school year is always thrilling, especially when you see the students back in the hallways and classrooms. While Mrs. Okabayashi, Mrs. Shelver, and I appreciate the quiet that comes with summer office hours and no bandaid or ice pack applications, after a month or so it gets kind of lonely. It is great to see everyone back and see all the students and staff walking the hallways again. To all our new families, welcome! We’re so happy to have you here.
There are a couple of events coming up that you will want to make sure you have on your calendar. First, our parent group, Parents and Teachers of Hope (PTH) will have their first general meeting on September 26 th at 6 pm in the Commons. They will be sharing information about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved with, which you don’t want to miss. It will last 30 minutes, and you earn PIP credit!
Right after the general meeting kindergarten through grade 8 families should plan on attending our Curriculum Night at 6:30 pm. For new and current families, this is a prime opportunity to meet Hope staff and teachers as well as hear from your child’s teacher about what they will be doing throughout the year, the class schedule, and any other important information.
One last reminder that Hope has Facebook and Instagram pages and we are always posting about the many activities that happen throughout the school day. This is also another way we communicate important information such as school closures, so be sure to LIKE our pages! Go Eagles!
Hope North: Building for the Next Generation:
For those families that were not able to attend our Vision event last Friday, we are including in your child’s Yellow envelope your campaign packet of information about the vision and expansion of Hope North. We hope you’ll be inspired and excited about what the future holds for our school and community. We also hope that you might take the time to consider and discuss how you want to be a part of this project. To that end, we have a video in addition to the capital campaign brochure that gives you an overview of what this campaign is all about. Save the date for Commitment Night, October 15th (more details to come) to turn in your commitment card and celebrate!

Student Medical Information Update
If your student requires taking medication during the day, requires an Epi Pen, inhaler or even might need the occasional Benadryl for allergies, ect., the office must have an authorization form filled out and signed by the parent. This form can be obtained in the office or emailed to you and must be on file before medication can be given. All medications will be held in the office. Epi pens should be brought to school by the parent and given to the office on the first day of school. If there is any change in your student’s medical history or insurance, such as an ADHD diagnosis, new IEP/504 plan, new medication, please email the school office so we can update your student’s history in GradeLink.

Chapel Offerings for September and October: Each week, when we gather for chapel, we collect a chapel offering. A small yellow offering envelope will be going home in the Tuesday Yellow Envelope today. Our chapel offerings are used to support ministries and those in need, locally and globally. Through the years, we have supported a child through Compassion International, Living Water, and missionaries that spread the word of Christ in other parts of the world. In early August, a catastrophic fire swept through Lahaina in Maui, where lives were lost, and many people lost their homes and businesses. Our chapel offerings for September and October will be designated for Maui Wildfire Relief through Emmanuel Lutheran Church and School in Lahaina and the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of the LCMS (Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod). Both Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the CNH District are using offerings to help support the needs of those in their community.
