Hope Garden Club by Elonna Visser, Second Grade Teacher
“The LORD will guide you always… You will be like a well-watered garden…” Isaiah 58:11
One of the gems Hope acquired when purchasing the North campus is a greenhouse. Mrs. Heit had the brilliant idea of using it to start a garden club, and she graciously allowed me to partner with her! A few weeks ago, we met with Hope church member Loren Sommer (who has a very successful greenhouse at home) to discuss getting ours up and running after not being in use for several years. We all left even more energized at the possibilities this space holds.
We are using the fall and early winter to make some repairs and do some planning so that the Hope Garden Club can start in early February! Just in time for spring planting 🙂 We will germinate seeds, tend to the plants, and maintain the greenhouse, all while experiencing the wonder of watching a tiny seed turn into something we can eat.
The club will be open to 2nd through 8th graders and meet after school. If you think your child might be interested, please let us know by filling out this form! And if you’d like to be involved or have items you wish to donate, please reach out to Mrs. Heit or me. We’re excited about the opportunity to connect to nature and each other as we care for the plants and this space!

Interested in Confirmation or growing in your faith? You are invited to attend a parent and youth informational meeting on Wednesday, October 9th at 7PM at the North Campus. This is designed for those with students in 6 through 12th grade. At that meeting we will go over what the Journey series is, expectations, and any other questions you might have. Following that, Patra Mueller will lead the first Journey Discipleship Pathway Class, Spiritual Parenting.
We are also excited to introduce the Discipleship Pathway to equip not just parents but also guardians, mentors, and others within our church. Each class will be geared toward our vision of “Helping You Grow as a Parent and a Follower of Jesus – a discipleship plan for all parents, guardians and mentors.” We would love for you to join.
The Journey Discipleship Pathway Series classes will be held on Wednesday nights during CONNECT, 7-8:30PM (with dinner provided at 6:30) to help equip you as you lead your children.
Class will be paused on Wed, 10/16. For more information, please contact Jonathan Kopecky jkopecky@hopeseattle.org
